So... I've decided to do reviews of artists on DA that I see in the community that I'm in, alongside artworks. I'm a talkative guy, to be honest, and I'd like to speak on my opinions of artists that I know of, and critique their crafts. I know that I may get bashed by some people that don't like the kinks I have, but hey, what are you gonna do?
The first artist that's on my plate is one that I've seen years ago on DA. His name is
(previously known as Hippinite). I've seen his artworks when he was known as Hippinite, interestingly enough. I think his works are what caused me to like cartoony-styled fats, to be frank. Saying that his art's awesome is an understatement. It's god-tier levels of fatty artwork, and he's one of my main inspirations for my art style.
I'm going to go over the reasons why I love his art, and why he's one of my idols. The first reason why is because of the detail he puts into his fats. The shading is very awesome, and bends realism with cartoony elements in it with the mixture of natural colors of skin. It's savoring, and shows how much he does his craft very well.
The next reason why I like his art is due to the anatomy. His ways of drawing fat are very spot on in appeal, and make it so that the women he draws don't look like circular and extremely unrealistic. On the other side, he doesn't make them too realistic to the point of which is unappealing, which is great. The proportionate ratios of the bodies he draws are fitting towards fat-shapes, and the rolls of fat compliment each other on each part of the body.
Another great thing about his art is his style, which is very cute and bubbly. The style of art of his kind is one of my favorite styles, in terms of character designs. It's simple, sweet, and is something which makes me go "D'awwwwwww!". Cuteness is what I like in BBW drawings, and Scribbs takes that likeness and uses it to his advantage.
One interesting tidbit is that it's noticeable that his style had change over the years. The earliest art I saw of his was mostly simple designs with dot-shaped eyes, kinda like
Adventure Time. Later on, he progressively puts more detail and adds more to his designs, which makes it look professional.
Recently, he's doing animations, and I gotta say, wow. This is some of the best content I ever seen. The motions of his are swift and smooth, and compliment his style of art. I wonder if he's going to do a whole series of weight-gain related shenanigans of his OCs (he's doing a comic of them).
In short, this guy's one of my idols in art, and is one of my main inspirations of weight gain art. I hope we see more of his awesome works soon, and that he grows more in popularity.
